[VOTE] Voting system

Out of curiosity, while working on Ascension's admin system, I ran across an interesting question...

Should vote pass percentages be set per command or for the entire server in general? So, I throw this question out there to all the server admins. Which would you choose?

I'm not a server admin, but IMO it should be option2 "Vote pass percent command wide".

I say, that the default be server-wide and that server admin can set whatever s/he chooses.

If you don't vote, you give it up. Look, the damn vote button is just a few inches from your hand, its not like you have to go a mile to a voting center or something. Although I think that there should be some changes to the vote GUI, like actually saying what its for rather than just a bar. Also, make it show up for someone who joined in the middle of it.

Plus, there should be a server option to auto-kick the llamas that don't vote.

can you explain what "Vote pass percent server wide" and "Vote pass percent command wide" means?

You can set the percentage of yes votes it takes to decide something. (Like kicking a player might be 75% but map skipping is only +50%).

Server-wide would mean that all options are set to the same percentage.
"Command-wide" would mean each command would have its own setting.

What if someone genuinely doesn't care if l33tpl4y4 will be kicked from a 30v30 game?

It seems to be concensus. I suppose this is one area where complexity wins out over simplicity, which is fine actually. Admins should have more control over their servers.

Oops, I misread the question. I thought it was if people who don't vote should be counted as voting no. Anyway, I think the customizable part is the best way.

people that dont vote are (in most games including tribes) counted as no votes even though the person doesn't actually say no.
